1 dead, 2 injured in early-morning shooting in Lake Highlands

One person is dead and two others wounded after an early-morning shooting Saturday in Lake Highlands, Dallas police said.

Officers arrived just after 2 a.m. to investigate a shooting at the Montecito Creek Apartments, at 9596 Wickersham Road, where they found a male victim on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was not carrying identification, police said.

The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified him as 18-year-old Christian Jones.

Two other males were found with gunshot wounds in separate nearby apartment complexes. Both were hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
