Arlington woman faces murder charge after husband shot

An Arlington woman is facing a murder charge after she killed her husband Monday morning, police say.

Officers were called about 8 a.m. to the 7900 block of Corona Court, where a woman reported she had shot her husband.

Detectives believe the couple had been involved in a domestic disturbance before the shooting.

The victim, who was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office as 49-year-old Larry Behnke, was taken to Medical City Arlington Hospital, where he died just before 9 a.m.

Police said Wendy Behnke, 45, remained at the home and was detained for questioning.

They later arrested her on the murder charge, and she was booked into the Arlington jail. Her bail has not been set.
