Multiple rounds of rain and storms on the way

The temperature and humidity have been slowly increasing through the day, creating an opportunity for isolated showers and thunderstorm to develop during the late afternoon and evening hours. A few storms could become strong to severe. The main threats will be large hail and gusty winds.

A line of more widespread thunderstorms will move in overnight, primarily between 2 am and 5 am. While the severe weather threat will be lower, the rain will be much heavier, leading to the possibility of flooding. A Flash Flood Watch will remain in effect through Wednesday evening.

There will be more chances for rain Thursday and perhaps into Friday morning. Two to four inches of rain have fallen across much of North Texas during the past few days. An additional one to two inches or more of rain could fall on already saturated soils this week leading to more minor flooding.
