Man shot dead at apartment complex in far northeast Dallas

A 20-year-old man was shot to death Sunday evening in far northeast Dallas, police said.

Officers were called about 6:30 p.m. to a shooting at the Summerwood Cove Apartments in the 9800 block of Summerwood Circle, near Audelia Road.

Kaleb Simpson, who had been shot was lying in the parking lot, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person who was with Simpson had been shot in the hand and was taken to a hospital, police said. That person’s name and condition were not released.

Witnesses told police that a dark-colored four-door Nissan sedan drove up behind Simpson’s vehicle, and someone in the Nissan fired multiple shots before the car drove off.
