Carrollton police looking for teen who threatened to spread coronavirus at Walmart

Police in Carrollton are looking for an 18-year-old who claimed to have COVID-19 and was seen on social media threatening to spread the illness.

On Sunday, police said they identified the teenager as Lorraine Maradiaga. She faces a charge of making a terroristic threat, police said.

In a Snapchat video, she claims to have COVID-19 and said she would spread the illness to shoppers at Walmart.

“I’m here at Walmart, about to infest every [expletive] because if I’m going down, all y’all [expletive] going down,” she said in the video, which has circulated on social media.

Officials don’t know if Maradiaga actually has the illness, police said.

“We have no confirmation Maradiaga is actually a threat to public health. We are, however, taking her social media actions very seriously,” police said.
