When we can expect another round of severe storms to hit our area

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Another round of severe weather could rumble through southeast Texas Tuesday night. There’s even a small chance of severe storms erupting Tuesday afternoon, but it becomes more likely by early Wednesday morning.

You’ll notice more humidity when you step outside Tuesday morning. Scattered thunderstorms could erupt as early as Tuesday afternoon as temperatures climb into the mid 80s, especially northeast of Houston. If you miss the storms Tuesday afternoon, the next opportunity will come in the middle of night. A line of thunderstorms will race though between midnight and sunrise Wednesday. The most likely threat from these storms are strong winds and hail, but we can’t completely rule out a brief, isolated tornado. This does not look like the kind of setup that can produce large and long-tracked tornadoes like the one that hit Onalaska last week.

After the storms clear on Wednesday we’ll have cooler and drier air moving in, bring a couple of cooler mornings before the heat starts to build in.

High temperatures for this weekend and the beginning of next week look to be headed for the 90 degree mark or higher. Factor in the humidity, and it will feel close to 100-degrees. Hello Summer!
