Dallas police officer arrested on DWI charge while on duty

A Dallas police officer was arrested early Monday after authorities said he was driving while intoxicated while on the job.

Sr. Cpl. Sean Paul Mock, 34, was booked into the Dallas County jail on one count of driving while intoxicated and has since posted bond.

Police said Mock was taken into custody about 2:15 a.m. He was on duty in a parked squad car at the time, according to police, who did not provide any additional information about the circumstances of the arrest.

Mock has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

He has been with the department since 2009 and is assigned to the northwest patrol division.

In 2013, Mock was honored for his role in rescuing a man who suffered a medical emergency and drove into Bachman Lake.
