Dallas high school teacher charged with sexual abuse of student

A Dallas ISD high school teacher has been charged with sexually abusing a 16-year-old student.

Garland officers arrested Conrad High instructor Robert Marc Flores, 59, at his home Tuesday morning while executing a warrant for online solicitation of a minor.

After making the arrest, police uncovered new information that prompted additional charges, including sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between educator and student.

Police said the victim is a 16-year-old Dallas ISD student.

According to Conrad High’s website, Flores teaches engineering. Dallas ISD spokeswoman Robyn Harris confirmed that Flores works at the school but would not say whether he had been placed on leave, directing inquiries to Garland police.

Flores is being held in the Garland jail, with bail set at $50,000 for the solicitation charge. Bail has not been set for the other two charges.

Investigators believe this is an isolated incident but are investigating whether there are other victims.
