Lake Worth restaurant says it will open Mother’s Day despite having pickup crash through dining room

If you thought having a truck smash through its dining room would stop a Tarrant County restaurant from opening for Mother’s Day, you’d be wrong.

Owner Jesse Gill of Tuscany Italian Bistro in Lake Worth said she planned to tidy up after Saturday’s mishap and open in time for the annual celebration of moms nationwide, KXAS-TV (NBC 5) reported.

Lake Worth police posted photos on Facebook of the newly open-air restaurant as well as the badly damaged pickup early Saturday afternoon.

“This morning, a suspected drunk driver drove completely through a local business,” the post read. “Thankfully, no one was injured.”

However, according to the post, police did find open alcohol containers and prescription medication inside the vehicle.

Police pleaded with community members not to drink and drive.
