A few showers tonight, hot and drier going forward

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — There’s a few scattered showers and storms dotting SE Texas early this evening, those will be fading away as the sun sets. The forecast looking ahead is more focused on the heat, even as Cristobal makes landfall in Louisiana tomorrow.

Forecast models and the NHC official forecast continue to show Tropical Storm Cristobal making landfall in Louisiana Sunday, with no significant direct impacts in SE Texas.

We’re expecting a a few thunderstorms and more heat through Sunday. The only indirect effects we’ll feel are rough surf, rip currents, a few showers, and very hot temps.

High temps will range from 95 to 98 through next Wednesday. Luckily, a weak cool front will move through Wednesday and drop our humidity late next week.
