Hot week ahead, but what’s in store for Father’s Day?

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — It was a pleasant Sunday with lots of sunshine and another round of hot temperatures. We saw a few isolated showers but most of us stayed completely dry.

Monday should start out with mostly clear skies, but we could see a few more clouds pop up as we head into the afternoon. Also in the afternoon, we could see some pop up showers/thunderstorms. Rain should be very isolated though so most of us should stay dry.

The ridge that controlled our weather this weekend will stay over us as we head into the work week. This means that the mainly dry weather will continue throughout the week. The ridge will start to weaken at the end of the week, and high pressure to the east will help to pump in more moisture for next weekend. This will bring up rain chances slightly on Saturday and Sunday. Right now we are looking at a 30% chance of rain both days. This rain will most likely be afternoon pop up showers/storms.
