CTD official martyred in Kohat attack

KOHAT: An official of Counter-Terrorism Department was martyred in an attack on the Hangu Road here on Sunday.

The CTD constable, Khan Wazir was coming to Kohat city from his home town of Naway Kallay when terrorists riding a motorcycle opened fire at him near a filling station. He died on the spot. His body was shifted to hospital for postmortem. The CTD constable was performing duty in Kurram district and was coming to Kohat on leave.

A case had been registered against unknown terrorists at the regional station of CTD.

His funeral prayers were offered at the Fareed Hussain Bangash police lines in Kohat attended by DIG Kohat division Tayyab Hafeez Cheema, district police officer Mansoor Aman, deputy commissioner Abdur Rehman, officials of CTD, elders and other police officers.

The DIG and other officials presented a salute of honour to the martyred official and laid floral wreath at his coffin.

Later, he was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard with official honours.
