Strong immune system must to combat coronavirus: experts

CHAGAI: Officials of the health department, social activists and members of civil society urged people to make their immune system strong by taking Vitamin-D and eating natural food like fresh vegetables, meat and fruits and their natural juices to combat the rapidly spreading coronavirus in the area.

Speaking at a seminar at Dalbandin Press Club, District Health Officer (DHO) of Chagai Dr Muhammad Azum Shahzad, Hafeez Shahi, Taaj Muhammad, Saeed-ur-Rehman and President of Dalbandin Press Club Ali Raza Rind said that coronavirus was prevailing in society and a large number of people were getting infected by the virus on a daily basis so the people should get them ready to face the challenge by taking healthy and natural food items in their diet which could increase their immune system as a strong immune system of the body would save the people from the fatal disease if the caught the virus.

The speakers highlighted symptoms, seriousness and consequences of Covid-19 and requested the masses to ignore the false propaganda in this regard. They said that a strong immune system was necessary to combat the fatal virus and this was only possible by taking natural food items.

DHO Dr Muhammad Azum Shahzad said that 150 positive cases had so far been reported in Chagai of a total 2030 people who were tested as suspected cases for Covid-19 in the area.

He said that Vitamin-D could be increased in the body by taking sunlight and eating fish, meat, eggs, cow liver and drinking milk could also be useful in boosting up immunity of the body against the deadly disease.

According to Dr Shahzad, the health department has constituted rapid response teams at union council levels in Chagai who were fully equipped and vigilant to respond to the pandemic.
