Body recovered from Trinity River, officials say

A man’s body was recovered from the Trinity River on Sunday, a day after officials believe he went missing on the river.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews initially went to the river Saturday night after a man was swept away and never resurfaced.

Officials resumed the search Sunday morning. They responded to a call for an “unconscious person” Sunday evening after two fishermen saw a body floating near LBJ Freeway and Dowdy Ferry Road, officials said.

The body was taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner, and officials believe it is the missing man.

Officials have not identified him.
