Hot Week Ahead

Expect more heat and slightly higher humidity in the coming week. A ridge of high pressure over North Texas will maintain a fairly typical August weather pattern through all of next week.

It’ll be seasonably hot with highs in the upper 90s. There will continue to be a threat for grass fires especially west of the DFW area, where humidity will drop to 25-30% during the late afternoon hours the next few days. But the humidity will increase through the week, and afternoon heat indices will exceed 100 most days. Make sure to take the necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

The ridge of high pressure will shift to the west the following week leading to a subtle drop in high temperatures into the mid 90s. Rain-free weather is expected to continue for the next ten days.
