Warm Labor Day, then a big change

After a dry start to Saturday, scattered showers and thunderstorms developed by mid afternoon and moved into North Texas from the south. Brief wind gusts over 40 mph and lightning were the main threats as the storms blew through. Expect them all to dissipate before the sun goes down.

Sunday and Labor Day will be rain-free, warm and more humid with high temperatures in the low to mid 90s.

The strongest cold front so far this season will arrive Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, bringing widespread thunderstorms. There will be a significant drop in temperatures beginning next Wednesday. And the cooler temperatures will persist through the following weekend.
