2 arrested in connection with fatal shooting of 18-year-old in Plano park

Two men were arrested Sunday in connection with the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man at a Plano park early Saturday, police say.

Rudhra Ronakkumar Patel and Abdulrahman Qays Al Dulaimi, both 18, are suspected in the death of Jacob Lyle Rusk.

Officers had been called about 2:20 a.m. Saturday to investigate the shooting at Jack Carter Park, near Independence Parkway and Legacy Drive. Before they arrived, they learned a teenager, who was later identified as Rusk, had been wounded and was at a hospital. Rusk, a Plano resident, was later pronounced dead.

Patel and Al Dulaimi are being held in the Collin County Detention Center in McKinney on murder charges.

Police said Sunday that Rusk had been targeted in the crime and that there was no danger to the general public.
