Southlake changes COVID-19 regulations for area businesses

Southlake’s city council approved changes to COVID-19 regulations during a meeting earlier this month in an effort to help businesses while protecting customers and workers during the pandemic.

“The City understands that businesses have been severely impacted by COVID-19 and has suspended enforcement of sign codes, parking, landscaping and outdoor and patio activity regulations to help businesses succeed and continue to provide a safe environment for the public,” the city said in a prepared statement.

In addition to the suspension of these codes, the city said it will continue to allow businesses to set up outdoor tents, trailers and trucks to sell merchandise and offer food pickup. Medical and health professionals can also provide vaccination or testing-related services outside of offices or clinics.

Schools, churches, and government and fitness facilities will also be able to set up temporary structures or tents to conduct business or activities outdoors as long as they meet all zoning, building and fire regulations.
