Pumpkin patch drive-through in McKinney raises thousands for CASA

McKinney’s Trinity Falls neighborhood pumpkin patch event raised $2,000 for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Collin County, the neighborhood announced Tuesday.

With the spread of COVID-19 increasing, Trinity Falls opted to host a drive-through pumpkin patch with appointments to limit the number of people gathered.

Pumpkins were sold for $2 each with all proceeds going toward CASA, which advocates for the interests of children who have been abused or neglected, especially those who are in the foster care system.

The event also featured a photo backdrop where families and individuals could get out of their cars and snap a fall-themed picture.

“We wanted to help families safely engage in a beloved fall tradition,” Marley Mitchell, a Trinity Falls marketing employee, said in a news release. “People visiting the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin for jack-o-lanterns and porch decorations. They also plan their holiday photos around those visits. This was a fun way for them to do that and raise money for a great cause.”

The neighborhood is located in North McKinney, near BB Owen Park.
