Brief humidity relief behind a Friday night cool front

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Warm, humid air is keeping our temperatures a good 10 degrees above average. That means we can expect highs near 90 today.

Isolated showers will pop up as a little extra moisture rolls in from the Gulf.

On Friday we’ll be tracking a cool front moving through the state. Houston should remain on the warm side of this one until after the sun sets. A few showers are possible Friday night as the front blows in.

Temperatures Saturday morning will drop into the upper 50s and low 60s as the front clears out the muggy air. At this time we believe temperatures will still climb above 80 degrees in the afternoon under a partly sunny sky.

Sunday will still be nice, but it will be a little too warm for that fall wardrobe as highs climb into the mid 80s.
A stronger cold front looks to impact us early next week with some needed rain. At this time we expect the cooler air to reach us on Tuesday. It’s too soon to determine just how cool the air will be behind this one, but the current outlook indicates we can at least expect highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s for a few days. We average a high of 81 and a low of 60 at this time of year.
