Man facing murder charge after admitting to fatally shooting his wife, Dallas police say

A 50-year-old man is facing a murder charge after admitting to fatally shooting his wife Saturday morning in east Oak Cliff.

Jose Arellano was arrested Saturday afternoon after voluntarily waiving his rights and admitting to shooting his wife, 36-year-old Josefina Sierra, during an interview with detectives, police said.

The shooting happened at about 5:30 a.m. at 1510 E. Missouri Ave., near South Corinth Street Road and East Illinois Avenue.

No other details about the shooting were available.

Arellano is being held in the Dallas County Jail. His bond information was not available Saturday night. It is unclear whether he has an attorney.
