Arlington ISD crosses over 350 total cases of COVID-19

Arlington ISD opened its doors to in-person instruction on Sept. 28 and since then there have been 351 positive COVID-19 cases reported throughout the district.

The district created a weekly updated COVID-19 tracker to display how many positive and active cases are at each school. As of Nov. 10, there are 57 active COVID-19 cases in the district among 27 staff members and 30 students.

According to the dashboard, a staff member from Venture High School, an alternative school drawing from all the district’s high schools, has died as a result of the coronavirus.

The elementary schools with one active COVID-19 case are Ashworth, Beckham, Crouch, Ditto, Fitzgerald, Miller, Morton, Patrick, Peach, Pope, Roark, Short, Speer, Swift, Thornton and Williams. The Kooken Education Center has one case as well.

The elementary schools with two active COVID-19 cases are Adams, Atherton, Burgin, Butler, Duff, Little and Rankin. Dunn Elementary School has three active cases.

Bailey, Boles and Nichols Junior High Schools all have one active case this week. Barnett Junior High School has two active cases this week.

The Career Tech Center and Turning Point Secondary School both have one active case this week. Arlington Collegiate, Sam Houston and Seguin high schools each have two active cases.

Arlington High School has eight active cases this week, and has had 31 cases total.

The administration building has two staff member with active COVID-19 cases this week.

Arlington ISD started in-person instruction on Sept. 28 with a two week hybrid phase lasting until Oct. 9. Parents still have the option to change or revert back to remote learning or in-person instruction.
