Officers responded early Oct. 26 to a home in the 2500 block of Friendway Lane, near East Kirnwood Drive and South Hampton Road in Red Bird, where a 911 caller said 33-year-old Lawrence Guerra Jr. had been attacked by a relative. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kelly, 23, was arrested Nov. 1, jail records show. Authorities did not say how the two men were related, but public records indicate that they both lived at the home on Friendway.

Kelly remains in custody at the Dallas County jail, with bail set at $100,000, and his attorney could not immediately be reached for comment. He also has a pending drug possession case.
