Harris was shot the night of Oct. 21 in the 9700 block of West Ferris Branch Boulevard, near Interstate 635. He was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle and was pronounced dead.

Harris’ obituary says he was the father of five daughters, ranging in age from 1 to 9.

Police have not said how they connected Roberson to the case.

He was booked into the Dallas County jail Nov. 12 and remained in custody Monday, with bail set at $500,000.

Court records show that, at the time of the shooting, Roberson was serving six years of deferred-adjudication probation after pleading guilty in a 2017 burglary case in Kaufman County. He also has been indicted on a charge of aggravated assault in Dallas County after authorities say he choked and bit a woman while brandishing a gun in December 2019.
