Man faces murder charge after 22-year-old found dead near road in Rochester Park, Dallas police say

A 24-year-old man faces a murder charge in the death of another man whose body was found earlier this month near a road in Rochester Park, Dallas police say.

Isaac Trevino was already in the Dallas County jail when authorities determined he was connected to the death of 22-year-old Ricardo Xavier Rangel.

Rangel was found in the 2900 block of Municipal Street after they received a call about a body about 9 a.m. Jan. 9. Rangel was pronounced dead at the scene.

Trevino was interviewed by a homicide detective and confessed to the fatal shooting, police said. He remained in jail Sunday afternoon with bail set at $700,000 on the murder charge and $15,000 on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Police did not provide details about any motive in the shooting or whether the two men knew each other.
