Teen killed in overnight gunfight in Garland, police say

A teenager was found dead Monday after an overnight gunfight, Garland police say.

Officers were called just after noon to the 500 block of West Interstate 30, near Broadway Boulevard, where a man had been found dead behind a building. He was identified as Rhamil Reason, 18, of Dallas.

Police said that, based on surveillance footage, it appears that Reason and another person exchanged gunfire overnight. No one else has been reported injured, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, and police said the motive for the shooting wasn’t known.
