Man faces murder charge in death of 26-year-old in east Oak Cliff

Dallas police have arrested a 29-year-old suspect in the death of a man found shot in east Oak Cliff early Saturday morning.

Around 12:09 a.m., police were called to the 100 block of West Elmore Street, near Beckley and Illinois avenues. There, they found Fredy Bonilla, 26, lying on the ground and shot in the groin. Bonilla was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Detectives took several witnesses in for questioning and arrested Angel Aristeo Badillo, 29, on a murder charge later Saturday, police said. Badillo is in the Dallas County jail, where his bail amount isn’t yet public.
