LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its condolence over the sad demise of former Test umpire Said Shah.
Said umpired in one Test match in 1997 between Pakistan and West Indies in Peshawar. Said also supervised five One-day International from 1984 to 1997. At the domestic level he performed the job in 90 first-class matches. After the retirement from umpiring, he remained in the PCB panel for the training of umpires and referees.
According to a PCB press release Said died in Peshawar on Friday. Director High Performance Centre of the PCB, Nadeem Khan in his condolence message said that Said was one of the most distinguished umpires during his playing days. Said, he added served the game with distinction and continued to guide and inspire a generation of umpires. He prayed that may God rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
