Dallas police ask for public’s help identifying man who fatally shot another man in east Oak Cliff

Dallas police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who fatally shot another man in east Oak Cliff on Monday.

Police said a man pointed a gun at the victim, identified by police as 47-year-old Terrance McCray, at a nearby 7-Eleven and then chased him south down the road.

Dallas police were called about 12:30 p.m. to 2316 S. Denley Drive, near East Illinois Avenue. There, they found the McCray, who had been shot in an alley across the street from the convenience store. He had been shot in the leg, and he died at a hospital, police said.

The suspect is described as a Black man between 5-9 and 5-11 with a slender build. He was last seen wearing black Adidas jogging pants, white, gray and black running shoes, a dark blue and gray hoodie and a white N95-style face mask.
