A new winter storm on the way

Wind Chill Warning is in effect through noon Tuesday. This bitter cold comes on the heels of the major snow-storm that North Texas received Sunday and early Monday. Low temperatures tonight will be in the single digits, easily breaking records. Some areas may fall below zero.

The next winter storm will impact North Texas Tuesday night and Wednesday. A new Winter Storm Warning has been issued for all of North Texas for the potential for accumulating snow. In addition, sleet will be possible, as well as freezing rain south of the DFW metro area into Central Texas.

The brutal cold will last all week. Please avoid travel if possible. This weather is both dangerous and historic because of the length and intensity of the cold, not to mention the likelihood for more accumulating snow. Take precautions for the bitterly cold weather, which will be capable of bursting pipes. Stay up to date on the latest forecast from the NBC 5 Weather Experts.
