Rain ending overnight but keep your jacket handy

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A gentle rain will slowly come to an end overnight, but you’ll still want to keep your jackets handy Tuesday morning.

A few showers could linger into the morning drive Tuesday, but most neighborhoods will already be drying out. Temperatures will dip into the upper 40s, but eventually sunshine will break through the clouds to warm us up close to 60-degrees in the afternoon.

How much rain can we expect?
Most neighborhoods will pick up less than half an inch of rain, but a few could get closer to 1″.

How cold will it get behind this front?
Temperatures will dip into the 40s overnight, but a stronger push of cold air will blow in Tuesday, dropping lows back into the upper 30s Wednesday. There are currently no freezes in our forecast over the next 10 days, but patchy frost will be possible Wednesday morning.

When will see abundant sunshine again?
We should the sun return Tuesday, especially in the afternoon. Abundant sunshine is expected from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday.

How is the weekend shaping up?
Another front blowing in Friday should usher in season temperatures and gorgeous weather for the weekend. Saturday looks partly cloudy with lows in the 50s and highs near 70. Sunday will start colder in the 40s, but a nearly sunny sky will push afternoon highs back toward 70.
