Islamabad IOs asked to complete probe into pending cases within two weeks

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations) Afzaal Ahmed Kausar on Friday directed the investigating officers (IOs) to complete probe in pending cases within two weeks.

According to a press release, the DIG was reviewing the performance of investigating officers in murder, robberies and theft cases.

Mr Kausar sought details of cases one by one and appreciated three investigating officers over good performance.

He assigned task to investigation officers to complete probe in pending cases within seven to 14 days as their performance will be reviewed in this regard after expiry of the deadline.

Those showing bad performance in this regard would have to face disciplinary action, the DIG said, adding investigating officers to remain in touch with complainants.

Investigation on all cases should be completed on merit, the DIG said and urged them to adopt a positive approach for success in professional and personal life and try to compensate those visiting the police stations.

In disguise of complainant, DIG Kausar visited the Khanna police station and directed to issue show cause notices to those policemen who were absent from duty at Sahulat Centre. He awarded commendation certificate to Naib Muharrar Naseer Ahmed for his courteous attitude and efficient dealing.
