After a weekend with spring temperatures, the new week began with strong storms moving through North Texas.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch Monday evening for much of North Texas — including Dallas, Collin, Denton and Tarrant counties. The watch expires at midnight.
A line of storms moved through the area Monday evening, bringing heavy rain and strong wind to much of the region. Small hail was reported in parts of Dallas shortly before 10 p.m.
The threat of tornadoes is low, KXAS-TV (NBC5) reported, and all of the rain is expected to leave Dallas-Fort Worth by midnight.
A second wave of showers and thunderstorms is expected to arrive late Wednesday, NBC5 reported.
