Wind advisory today

A windy day in North Texas is upon us. A strong southerly breeze will range from 20 to 30 mph throughout the day. A few gusts this afternoon could exceed 35 mph. That’s strong enough for a Wind Advisory, which the National Weather Service has issued for 12 p.m. to midnight. It will be a warm wind with temperatures into the lower 80s this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies.

Wednesday will bring a shift in the wind direction to the north. This weak cold front could trigger some isolated thunderstorms to the east of DFW Wednesday. Some of these could produce some hail over toward Tyler and Longview. For DFW, however, the forecast looks dry on Wednesday with clouds giving way to sunshine during day.

It looks to stay dry until Friday when a chance of afternoon or evening thunderstorms returns. At this time, the weekend is looking dry and warm with highs near 80.
