Dallas police find 21-year-old man shot dead in vehicle in Pleasant Grove

Dallas police are investigating after a man was found fatally shot Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to perform a welfare check about 4:40 p.m. in the 10400 block of Checota Drive, near North Masters Drive in Pleasant Grove, and found 21-year-old Mateo Hernandez unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

Hernandez had been shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have not made any arrests or identified any suspects.
