Army, police launch operation against SOPs’ violators in Pindi

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army, Rangers and local police in collaboration with the district administration on Friday started an operation to ensure implementation of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the garrison city.

During the operation, Assistant Commissioner (City) Waqas Sikandar and ASP Taimur raided different markets and imposed fines on three shops on Murree Road, two restaurants and arrested two persons over violation of the SOPs.

They visited the food street on Double Road and distributed masks and launched a campaign to promote awareness of the SOPs.

Similarly, four shops and restaurants were sealed in Commercial Market in Satellite Town, two shopkeepers were fined and three people were arrested.

In Sadiqabad, 31 shops were raided and 11 people arrested. Two restaurants, eight shops were fined and 10 people were arrested.

In Imambargah Chowk, two restaurants and three shops were sealed and two people were arrested.
