Cool pattern with rain chances ahead

A big weather change is underway across North Texas. As cooler air surges in today, rain chances will linger and clouds will persist. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will likely redevelop later today and into this evening. Meanwhile, temperatures will stay well below normal today with a high in the 60s.

Not only will you need the umbrella today, but it will be needed Tuesday as well. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected with heavy rain possible. The rain chances will begin tapering off by Wednesday. While some storms could produce some hail later today or tonight, severe weather is not expected to be a major threat this week. Rain totals are expected to be in the 1-2″ range this week. Sunshine and warmer weather will return by the end of the week.
