Man, woman, teenage girl arrested on murder charges after fatal Mesquite shooting during fight

Three people have been arrested after a fatal shooting last month in Mesquite, police say.

Patshy Rocshun Bryson, 31, of Balch Springs, Jamya Chanel Harris, 17, of Dallas and Marvin Wayne Henderson, 30, of Balch Springs each face one count of murder.

Mesquite officers were called about 3:20 p.m. April 26 to the 4100 Block of Shackelford Drive, where are shooting was reported.

A male victim who had been shot in the head was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The victim, whose name has not been released, later died.

Police said the shooting appeared to have taken place during a prearranged fight at that location.

All three suspects were booked into the Dallas County jail last week.

Harris and Henderson remained in custody Monday, with bail set at $150,000 for Harris and $256,500 for Henderson; Bryson has been released on bond. Bryson and Harris did not have attorneys listed in court records, while a lawyer representing Henderson could not immediately be reached for comment.

Neither Bryson nor Harris appears to have a criminal history.

Henderson pleaded guilty to assaulting a public servant in a 2010 case where he admitted pushing a police officer down a flight of stairs. He was sentenced in 2012 to eight years of probation, but authorities sought to revoke his probation in 2019 for reportedly violating a number of its conditions. One of those violations was his arrest in a 2018 family-violence assault case; he is still awaiting trial on that charge.
