Weekend rain and storm chances

Saturday begins cloudy and muggy with a few showers possible. Showers and isolated thunderstorms however, will increase in coverage this afternoon and evening.

The environment is favorable for spotty to scattered showers and storms through Sunday as Gulf moisture streams northward. The most likely time for rain both days this weekend will be during the afternoon and evening. No severe weather is expected but occasional lightning and brief heavy downpours are possible.

Despite the rain chances, there will still be several dry hours both weekend days. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 70s through Sunday. The normal high temperature for this time of year is 85. Scattered showers and isolated storms will remain in the forecast through next Wednesday.
