Flash Flood Watch through Tuesday evening

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Moisture-rich air from the Gulf continues to flow in to Southeast Texas, bringing heavy rain along with it. The heavy rain has eased up over most of the Houston area but it will return on Tuesday. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Tuesday evening.

Some street flooding is happening around the city. Check the list of reported high water locations on Houston roadways.

The most likely area for heavy rain will be from Houston to the north and west. A slow moving storm dropped nearly a foot of rain over northern Austin County Monday evening.

How much additional rain will we get through Wednesday?

There’s a 70% chance for rain in the forecast for Tuesday, and a 40% chance for Wednesday. Most areas will receive 2″ or less but some areas could get as much as 4″ or more.

When will we dry out?
We will start to see rain chances drop as we head into Thursday. We may have a couple of isolated showers in the afternoons for the second half of the work week, but most of us look to stay dry.
