Disney sends Emma Stone-starrer Cruella sequel in the works

American actress Emma Stone must be excited as her recent movie Cruella is amassing a lot of appreciation from around the globe with positive ratings. However, the  32-year-old talented actress is over the moon as Disney has opted to produce a sequel of the movie.

Disney studios acknowledged the applause Cruella has received so far as the movie is just into its second week after the release on May 28.

“We are very pleased with Cruella’s box office success, in conjunction with its strong Disney+ Premier Access performance to date,” a Disney spokesperson said in a statement.

“The film has been incredibly well received by audiences around the world, with a 97% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes in addition to A’s in every demographic from CinemaScore on opening weekend, ranking it among the most popular of our live-action reimaginings. We look forward to a long run as audiences continue to enjoy this fantastic film.”

Though the iconic villain Cruella de Vil is bad, the character has received approval from movie lovers.  Hence, it is expected Emma Stone will reprise her role as Estella – the good girl-turned-evil.  In fact, it is Estella-turned-Cruela de Vil.

Several American entertainment websites with The Hollywood Reporter in the lead reported that Disney has already started working on the sequel.

The film was released to theatres and Disney+’s Premium Access.

Most of the cast and crew including director Craig Gillespie and writer Tony McNamara are believed to return to the movie set for the sequel.
