Flash Flood Watch again in effect

Much of Sunday was rain free for most of North Texas. But some scattered showers and thunderstorms popped up by late afternoon, mainly east of the Dallas Fort-Worth area.

But later this evening, a complex of storms is expected to develop to the northwest of Dallas-Fort Worth. These storms are expected to move southeast into our part of the region after midnight and into early Monday morning. The main threats will be locally heavy rain, damaging winds and frequent lightning. As a result, a Flash Flood Watch has been posted for most of North Texas through Monday evening.

Additional chances of more widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible through Tuesday, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. The rain chances will finally end by Wednesday.

Temperatures have remained below normal for early June because of the recent clouds and rain. But that will be changing as the rain comes to an end. And as clouds are replaced by more sunshine, DFW will approach the normal high temperatures of 90 by midweek.
