Flash-flood watch in effect for parts of North Texas as storms move in overnight

The National Weather Service has issued a flash-flood watch for parts of North Texas from Monday morning through Monday evening as storms roll in through the area overnight.

The watch will be in effect through 7 p.m., with a high chances of heavy rainfall in Dallas and Fort Worth, the Weather Service said.

Parts of the area received more than 6 inches of rain Saturday, according to KXAS-TV (NBC5).

Storms are expected to develop to the northwest Sunday night, NBC5 reported. The storms are expected to move into the area after midnight and into Monday morning.

The main threats will be heavy rain, wind and lightning, according to NBC5.
