Man drowns while swimming in Grapevine Lake, authorities say

A man drowned while swimming in Grapevine Lake on Tuesday evening, authorities said.

Grapevine police and fire crews were called about 7:30 p.m. to Oak Grove Park, where a man in his early 30s who had been submerged for more than 10 minutes. The Grapevine Fire Department said the man had not been wearing a life jacket and was pulled from the water by bystanders.

Police started performing CPR on the man, and paramedics took him to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Grapevine.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later. His name has not been released.

Texas game wardens will investigate the drowning.
