Rain chance rises Father’s Day then increases more with rare June front

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Deep moisture associated with Tropical Depression Claudette will blow in on Sunday, pushing rain chances up to 40%. Temperatures will start in the upper 70s and warm into the low 90s. Wherever it rains, temperatures will cool off into the upper 70s and low 80s. Your best chance of rain will come between 3 p.m. 7 p.m., but a showers will also be possible in the morning.

The Gulf of Mexico is getting stirred up by Claudette, and that’s leading to a hazard in the waters. Strong rip currents are possible along area beaches Sunday.

Our highest rain chance over the next 10 days will actually come Monday night and Tuesday when a rare June front reaches Houston. This will bring widespread clouds and widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will peak in the 80s, but by Wednesday it will start drying out and heating back up into the 90s.
