Police investigating death of man whose body was found in Plano creek

Plano police are investigating the death of a man who was found in a creek Sunday morning.

First responders were dispatched to the 5000 block of Custer Road in Plano about 11 a.m. after witnesses said they saw what looked like a body in Spring Creek, near Chisholm Trail.

The body of a man was pulled from the water, police said. His identity will be released after the next of kin has been notified.

The man was reported missing by family members on July 8, police said, after he voluntarily left his home that same day. Police said there appears to be no signs of foul play.

The Collin County medical examiner’s office will determine a cause of death.
