Man jailed on $1M bail in Denton after police say he choked, punched woman during sexual assault

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after Denton police say he choked and punched a woman during a sexual assault.

Gadiel Alejandro Davila Perez of Little Elm was booked into the Denton jail Wednesday on a charge of aggravated sexual assault. His bail was set at $1 million, and it was unclear whether he had an attorney.

Authorities were called early Saturday to the 1100 block of Cleveland Street, near West Collins Street, where a 911 caller said the victim had asked for help.

The woman was taken to a hospital. Police said she had been sexually assaulted, choked, punched and threatened.

Police did not say how they identified Davila as a suspect.
