Hot and dry

A change in the jet stream pattern means an increase in temperatures across North Texas this weekend into next week. The high pressure system responsible for the hot weather has been over the Western United States much of the summer, but now it’s shifting east into the Central U.S.

More typical late July weather arrives this weekend. This means triple-digit heat is expected in North Texas. DFW has yet to officially hit 100 this summer. That will likely change perhaps as early as Sunday. Make sure to stay safe in the heat if you’re working or playing outdoors.

As temperatures increase, our rain chances will be dropping. In fact, dry weather is expected all of next week. Be prepared for staying safe in the heat. Stay hydrated, keep your pets cool and check on the elderly.
