A hot and hazy weekend, but cooling downpours return next week

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Talk about a hot Summer day! Temperatures today ran up into the upper 90s across Southeast Texas.

Overnight, temperatures should drop into the mid 70s but we will quickly warm up to near 99 in the afternoon. When you add in humidity, it will make it feel like 108! We also expecting another sunny day due to high pressure overhead.

Even though it is gorgeous outside, we do have a little haze from Saharan Dust, but that should thin out a bit more Sunday.

What can we expect for the rest of the weekend?
The hot, dry weather is expected to continue Sunday, but the haze will thin out considerably. Temperatures will climb to near 100-degrees with heat index values again approaching 108-degrees. That’s the threshold for a Heat Advisory to be issued.

We have rain chances returning on Tuesday as another wet weather pattern develops and lingers into next weekend.
