Suspect at large in fatal shooting at Arlington park, police say

Arlington police are investigating the death of a man who was shot Sunday at a park, authorities say.

Officers responded to the shooting about 12:15 p.m in the 2200 block of Greenway Street, near Helen Wessler Park. They were told a woounded man in his early 20s had been dropped off at a local hospital.

The man, whose identity will be released after his family has been notified, died at the hospital, police said.

Detectives think the victim agreed to meet a man in his early 20s at the park to fight. When the victim arrived, the suspect shot him from his car, police said.

Investigators searched the neighborhood for videos and witnesses, police said. The suspect has not been identified and remains at large.

Anyone with information about the case may call Detective Constantino at 817-459-5729. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.
